Fujitsu Frontech partners with Positek RFID firm

Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc., a leader in innovative technology, has partnered with Positek RFID L.P. to form a subsidiary firm, Positek RFID Inc., with the objective to expand the market for washable RFID technologies in North America. Positek RFID L.P. develop complete RFID systems, solutions, and integration for the textile maintenance industry.
Positek RFID L.P. creates and installs custom-designed laundry management solutions that enable companies to improve productivity by reducing labour and merchandise costs and accurately tracking, sorting, and managing inventory.
Michi Sugawara, president and CEO of Fujitsu Frontech North America said, “By creating this new company, we will enable Positek to achieve even greater strength and market success as industry moves towards digital transformation. Positek RFID Inc. will continue to be operated as an independent business with a long term goal of expanding its presence in the North American market.”
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a powerful technology that is used to track everything from airline parts to clothing and accessories purchased from your local department store. Washable RFID enables garment and linen rental companies, as well as hotels and hospitals, to track their inventory to ensure that adequate stock is available when and where it is needed, as well as to reduce loss.

The Fujitsu WT-A533 washable UHF RFID linen tag is flexible, soft and durable, making it ideal for flat linens and garments processed in industrial laundries. The new semi-transparent WT-A533Lwashable UHF RFID fashion tag is only 7 millimetres wide, which enables fashion apparel manufacturers and garment rental companies to easily insert the new tag into garments and high-fashion items without using a pouch or heat-seal tape.
