Stibo Systems, the independent market leader in master data management (MDM) and the highest-ranking product information management (PIM) provider, announced that Target Australia Pty Ltd has deployed the STEP software solution to create and manage product information to support its promotional planning and advertising efforts. Since leveraging STEP as the company's central source of product information, Target Australia has streamlined critical business processes and achieved more effective and efficient promotion planning and production.

As one of Australia's largest retailers, Target Australia recognized that in order to consistently improve merchandising performance, it first needed to develop and maintain a single, consistent view of product information across more than 290 store locations and channels.

With STEP, Target is now better able to manage product information and digital assets to improve product information accuracy and consistency, as well as to streamline its promotional planning and advertising processes. Additionally, the company's buyers, merchandisers and production design studio can now gather, manage, publish and share product information more efficiently.

"Stibo's STEP has been instrumental in helping us achieve an accurate, consistent and trustworthy view of our product data, which is allowing us to meet our goal of improving operations and more accurately promoting our products to customers," said Murray Chenery, general manager, marketing at Target Australia. "STEP makes it easy for us to optimize our operations and deliver a compelling and consistent marketing message to our shoppers."

"Retailers today face increased competition due to a greater variety of retail channels and product options," said Chris Sharrock, managing director of Stibo Systems Asia Pacific. "Succeeding in this environment calls for clear and continual visibility into customer demand. Stibo is thrilled to help Target achieve fast and accurate access to product information so it can more accurately create and manage promotions."

Target Australia is a leading Australian retailer with annual revenue in excess of $3.8 billion and more than 290 stores across the country. Target Australia is a customer destination for product that is great style, quality and value. The core product ranges include ladieswear, intimate apparel, menswear, childrenswear and nursery, accessories and footwear, soft homewares, electrical, toys and other general merchandise.

Stibo Systems delivers enterprise software solutions that help companies gather, manage and share product information across the information supply chain. The STEP platform creates a single trusted source of information by eliminating duplicate data silos, turning departmental data into a strategic asset. STEP has been implemented by many of the world's leading manufacturers, distributors, retailers and service providers. With global operations, Stibo Systems is part of the privately held Stibo A/S group of companies.
