Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organizations, announced it will be showcasing its leading Epicor Retail Store solution designed for use with Windows 8 tablets based on Intel Atom and Core processors here at NRF, giving retailers comprehensive mobile Point of Sale (POS) to improve the customer experience while streamlining backend operations to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

The Epicor Retail Store Windows 8 Tablet Edition enables retailers to run a full POS installation on Windows tablet devices for check out, as well as access to all back office, inventory management, time and attendance and dashboard functionality.

Now retailers have the power of the Epicor Retail Store solution -- running on more than 300,000 Point of Sale devices in more than 250 brands at the world’s leading retailers -- wherever and whenever needed along with the ease-of-use, familiarly, and dependability of Windows.

Supporting the next evolution of mobility in the retail enterprise, Epicor will present the NRF Big !deas Session: Windows 8 POS Tablet: Why Less Really is More, on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. ET in Room 1, Level 1 in the Expo Hall.

Session attendees will have a chance to win an HP ElitePad. Epicor representatives also will be demoing the new Epicor Retail Store Windows 8 Tablet Edition at both the Epicor Software and Intel booths (Booth 3501 and Booth 2738, respectively) during exhibition hours at NRF 2014.

As store associates work to delight today’s easily distracted consumer, they gain a tremendous advantage working with the new class of Windows 8 tablets -- which are thinner, lighter, and faster -- and software -- which offers a familiar on-screen setting across all Windows devices.

With better performance and increased battery life, the new tablets benefit customers and store employees alike as they can tap on-the-fly from any location across the enterprise to attain product information, check inventories and place orders.

For retail managers, Windows 8 translates to being in control; they can monitor performance indicators to get an instant view of store operations, have information at their fingertips from anywhere within the premises, and support smart decisions to strategically run the business.
