INTERSPORT France deploys Centric Apparel Suite PLM

Centric Software, a leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for fast moving consumer goods industries, today announced that INTERSPORT France, member of INTERSPORT INTERNATIONAL Corporation (IIC) has purchased Centric's Apparel Suite PLM solution and completed initial implementation.

INTERSPORT France is using Centric Apparel Suite to assure the reliability of information to suppliers in its exclusive brands (private label) group, thus speeding and improving the quality of the sample development process and in turn the delivery of its exclusive brand collections to stores.

“To get our collections into stores on schedule, we must have definitive samples, or the entire season's delivery schedule can be affected,” said Nicolas Thibault, exclusive brands business unit manager at INTERSPORT France. “Yet valuable time was being lost as we went back and forth with the suppliers, answering questions or requesting changes, because we provided inconsistent information in our technical design files.”

The INTERSPORT Group also selected Centric to increase efficiencies in a number of ways. For example, since design information is now centralized, when a product manager is out of the office, the assistant can access the files, answer questions, and keep the process moving forward.

Despite these potential benefits, INTERSPORT demanded the right sort of PLM system, Mr. Thibault explains. “I have experience with a number of other PLM systems, and I did not believe they were right for our team. Centric's system is surprisingly easy to use and easy to implement. Currently, as we progress through our implementation, the feedback from our product managers and suppliers has been very positive, and we expect the system to help us successfully reach our business objectives.”

“INTERSPORT France shrewdly realized that not all PLM systems are created equal,” said Chris Groves, president and CEO of Centric Software. “An easy-to-use, rapidly implemented PLM system like Centric's Apparel Suite, which is designed specifically to meet the requirements of the apparel and fashion industries, will speed product lines to market, help reduce costs and improve margins, and improve the efficiency of valuable product managers and other staff. We're pleased to welcome INTERSPORT France as a Centric customer.”
