Columbitech secures maurices Wireless Network

Columbitech, a leading mobile VPN security software provider, announced that maurices, a women's apparel retailer, owned by Dress Barn, Inc, has deployed Columbitech's mobile VPN in over 650 retail stores. Utilizing Columbitech's mobile VPN solution, maurices has enhanced its overall security with secure access to its wireless network, added protection and authentication features to its existing Fujitsu iPAD handheld computers and meets PCI compliance requirements.

maurices was in need of a solution to secure its existing wireless infrastructure that delivered mutual authentication and strong encryption of data for PCI compliance requirements. Columbitech's mobile VPN addressed the requirements for maurices existing wireless infrastructure, avoiding the purchase of new hardware and replacement of current equipment while providing uninterrupted customer data integrity.

“Finding a security solution that could meet our requirements without replacing our existing investment was quite a win,” said Mike Machones, vice president of IT & logistics for maurices. “Columbitech offered all the security protection we needed and allowed us to continue our daily routines at a fraction of the cost of replacing our existing hardware, which was important to us in our final decision process.”

Store managers use Fujitsu iPADs for real-time data to complete store transfers as well as manage pricing updates. Columbitech's mobile VPN provides authentication and secure access, protecting against hackers, while enabling faster price updates and accurate data. The mobile VPN also allows the store managers to focus on productivity with Single Sign On (SSO) functionality, providing uninterrupted connectivity and session persistence.

With Columbitech's mobile VPN, retailers are empowered to utilize new wireless applications securely, such as mobile payments and other solutions that improve the customer experience in the store. It also allows the retailer to replace equipment gradually instead of replacing all the hardware at once. The mobile VPN is the only FIPS 140-2 certified solution which can completely secure both WLAN and WWAN environments.
