Asmara is a full-package services and products supplier, buying house, and design contributor with many offices throughout Asia. They are the fastest growing buying house, growing to over $150 million USD turnover in less than 5 years. Recently they implemented TUKAcad, e-fit Simulator, and many other Tuka solutions for digital product development.

“We needed to create a value for our customers overseas. By just being their agents, we could not justify working for them. We needed to take their pain (expense) away by interpreting their designs, developing fit samples, and getting fit approvals in India, Indonesia, China, Vietnam, and Bangladesh. The only solution was to go the route of digital samples. Our investment in Tuka solutions has brought fantastic results. What took weeks and months is now done in hours and days.” said Devender Gupta from Asmara.

Matrix Clothing, the winner of the Emerging India Award in the Textiles and Apparel category for 2008, is an export-oriented manufacturer. Matrix has been supplying men's and ladies' apparel to leading brands such as Reebok, Gap, Timberland, Chico's, Cutter & Buck, Macy's, Calvin Klein, Armani Exchange, Abercrombie & Fitch, and many more since 1980.

“We have always been on the forefront of manufacturing technologies, but with the growing demand for new styles and samples, the manual operation became a bottleneck.” commented Mr. Gautam Nair, CEO, Matrix Clothing. “We couldn't start the production until samples were approved. Trying to teach CAD systems to manual pattern makers failed in the past, so we only used CAD systems for grading and marker making. Investment in Tukatech systems brought us immediate results--they really helped us engineer our development, costing, and production process”, added Mr. Nair.

A Hot Kiss licensee also recently revamped his entire design process by implementing 3D virtual samples using e-fit Simulator to communicate design, fit, and samples digitally between Los Angeles, New York, China, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. “Yes, I love technology and I have seen the benefits of these technologies. This has allowed significant savings and an opportunity to serve the customer's demands quickly.” commented David Steinberg, CEO, ROMAR Group.

“This is the busiest time ever for our engineers around the world as most of the committed apparel companies are streamlining their processes to reduce time and cost,” said Ram Sareen, CEO and Founder of Tukatech. “There is a mixed reaction around the world amid uncertainty in the apparel business--some companies just want to weather the storm, while proactive companies are taking a serious look at their front-end technologies.

CK Jeans and Chaps by Warnaco developed TUKAforms for their three fit models to use across their entire supply chain and significantly reduced the number of samples and fit attempts last month. Casual Male did exactly the same thing for their fit model last week, and they have already developed fit blocks and master patterns on TUKAcad systems to correspond with their fit model replica TUKAforms as well.“
