Counseling completed at FDDI

The first counseling for all PG programme was done from 16th July 2009 whereas for UG programme from 20th July 2009 and counseling was completed successfully on 21st July 2009 as all the seats got filled-up.
Following the directive of the Supreme Court, the counseling began with allotment of seats to the students falling under the 'Reserved Category' i.e., to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Handicapped (PH) students.
Similarly, the programme and the campus was allotted to the successful candidates falling under the 'General Category' on the basis of their ranks during counseling depending upon the availability of seat at that point of time.
The counseling was conducted for overall 290 seats in all the UG Programmes at both campuses (Noida & Rae Bareli) and all the seats were filled at 391 rank. The students showed great interest in the UG programmes in the specialized area of Footwear Technology and Leather Goods & Accessories Design the seats for the same were filled at Noida Campus within rank 105 & 51 respectively.
Similarly FDDI conducted counseling for overall 300 seats in all the PG Programmes at both campuses (Noida & Rae Bareli) and all the seats were filled at 398 rank. The students showed great interest in the PG programmes with specialization in Footwear Technology, CAD/ CAM designing and Leather Goods & Accessories Design the seats for the same at Noida Campus were filled within rank 149, 120 & 139 respectively.
Sharing the details, Mr. Shashi Bhushan Shukla, IRS, Secretary, FDDI, said “FDDI is the only premier Institute in niche area of Retail, Footwear & Leather Goods & Accessories design so the demand of our graduates is more in these specialized areas.”
“For the new academic session, the programme and the campus were allotted to the successful candidates strictly on the basis of their ranks. While some students had the fortune of getting admitted in the campus and course of their choice, others had to choose between either of the two.”
The tremendous rush for admission at FDDI is because of its impeccable track record of 100% placement for all its pass outs in major Multinational and Indian companies. FDDI alumni include VP's and CEO's of some of the renowned companies. FDDI students have been able to get global placement in countries like USA, UK, Germany, Hong Kong, Egypt, China, Singapore, UK, Middle East, Sri Lanka, Kenya etc.
The economic slowdown might have affected B School placements across India but FDDI fulfilled its promise to the students to provide the best career options. The reputed MNCs & Indian companies in Retail, Leather & Footwear namely Levis, Puma, Nike, Bata, Lacoste, Liberty, Ritu wears, Mudra Garments, Carlton London, Aditya Birla, Tata International, Relaxo & Van Heusen visited FDDI Noida and recruited graduates from FDDI.
The classes of the various programmes will begin from August 2009 at FDDI, Noida as well as at FDDI, Fursatganj campus.
Currently, the faculty members are working on the modalities to give more attention to students so that they can excel in their professional lives. They would try to develop friendly and healthy relationship with the students and identify their strong and weak points. After identifying them they will work on the weak arenas to make the education more holistic.
Meanwhile, FDDI has also made arrangements to check ragging. Letters have already been sent to parents of all senior students warning them of strict action if their wards involved in ragging. Committees of senior teachers and officials have been planned to monitor the activities of the students in classrooms and hostels.
