Laboratory Course organized in FDDI

Footwear Design & Development Institute(FDDI) Laboratory organized 3 days lab course in Physical Laboratory on testing on footwear technology, quality control of Indian Standards (IS:15298:2002) & International Standards (ISO:20344-347:2004) for safety footwear at Noida from 22nd to 24th October 2009.
The topics covered in the course were Indian Standards for Safety footwear, components and allied materials i.e. 15298:2002, International Standards for Safety footwear, components and allied materials i.e. ISO:20344-347:2004, Components of Shoes, Exposure on Latest testing equipments like Slip Resistance, Penetration Resistance of metal insert exclusively available in our laboratory in India and Testing procedures, test demonstration.
According to Mr. Rajeev Lakhara IRS, Managing Director, FDDI “The participants learnt how to process and interpret the test results and perform a range of procedures and examinations for leather & footwear components.”
Altogether 19 representatives from the leading safety footwear manufacturing companies participated in the course.

According to Mr. Shashi Bhushan Shukla, IRS, Secretary, FDDI,“The course provided an excellent fit to know about Indian Standards for Safety footwear, components and allied materials.”
The participants appreciated the inputs received during the course and emphasized that the training module should be extended to five days. The course proved to be an excellent opportunity for the participants to take maximum benefit from this innovative technology. There was an interactive session after the course.
