The Chairman Footwear Design & Development Institute(FDDI), Mr. M. Rafeeque Ahmed is giving his utmost time to make FDDI as a role model for technological & infrastructural development for the leather, footwear, retail & allied industries. He visited the FDDI, International Testing Centre(ITC) at Irungattukottai on 12th November '09. On this occasion Mr. Shashi Bhushan Shukla, IRS, Secretary, FDDI was also present.
In his address, Mr. M. Rafeeque Ahmed said, “Quality Control tests are required at all stages of production from incoming materials through semi finished to the finished products. These tests are necessary to keep a strict control on the quality of the raw materials as well as the finished products.” This was followed by his interaction with the staff of the ITC where he emphasized to strive to achieve high customer satisfaction through accurate & timely test results.
Briefing about the role of FDDI's, ITC, Mr. Rajeev Lakhara,IRS, Managing Director, FDDI said, “The ITC is doing a pioneering work & offers a comprehensive range of physical and chemical tests on a variety of materials and products. It has a full complement of state of art testing equipment; all calibrated to the most demanding industry standards.”
In order to check the quality of the products/components as per specifications and requirements of the customer, one has to carry out elaborate tests. In this aspect, the ITC plays an important role. Expressing his views in this regard, Mr. Shashi Bhushan Shukla, IRS, Secretary, FDDI said “We are recognized for quality service and we deliver accurate, consistent and reliable results with minimum possible time & we will strive to maintain the same in future also for the growth of the sector.”
