The assyst GmbH in Aschheim-Dornach near Munich has further strengthened its Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Team in the person of Mr. Jan Jessen, who signed an employment contract with the company on the 1st of April 2010.

One of assyst's strategic objectives is to professionalize and further develop project management in the PLM business field. “In Jan Jessen, we have gained a fully-qualified project manager who can inject his many years of know-how into the area where it's most needed - our interface to the customer”, says Andreas Seidl, Managing Partner of the assyst GmbH.

As System Information & Projects Manager, Jan Jessen is predominantly responsible for the implementation of PLM systems on the customer's premises. He is also be responsible for customer care and guidance in the introduction and establishment of modern, tried and proven PLM methods. His many years of experience as an IT consultant with Lufthansa and subsequently with Tchibo as Senior Consultant, Non Food Applications, bridges the gap between product and customer.

In a joint research project, assyst and the WZL (tool/machine laboratory) of the RWTH Aachen (University) are currently working on developing system-independent PLM reference processes for the garment industry. These processes will form a foundation for creating a procedural method for the selection, implementation and further development of a PLM software. “I'm delighted to be able to supervise this project from the outset - and bring to it the experience I've gained in the sector”, says Jessen.
