Bhavani Gems introduces Sarin Quazer II technology

Singapore Exchange Mainboard-listed Sarin Technologies Ltd, a worldwide leader in the development, manufacturing and sale of precision technology products for the planning, processing, evaluation and measurement of diamonds and gems, is pleased to announce that Bhavani Gems, a leading Indian diamond manufacturer, exporter and sightholder of both DeBeers DTC and BHP Billiton, has taken delivery of the first Quazer II, Sarin's new and most advanced laser system for cutting and shaping rough diamonds.

The Quazer II is Sarin's newest laser system for sawing and shaping diamonds. It culminates over two years of refinement of virtually all the original Quazer's components, sub-systems, and software, introducing the most advanced laser system to the diamond industry.

Manjibhai Dholakia, Bhavani Gems' founder, a pioneer in adopting new technologies and business practices, said, “We are proud to be the first to receive the Quazer II system with its all-new features that makes it the right choice for our production line.”

Uzi Levami, Chief Executive Officer of Sarin, stated, “The introduction of the Quazer II technology into the production process will provide diamond manufacturers the best green laser solution for cutting and shaping rough diamonds to be offered for sale. We intend to enhance this product with the Strategist software product, which will be launched later this year and will further optimise the sawing and shaping process, ultimately enabling the operator to take Galaxy 1000 inclusion mapping output data into account.”

Established in 1988, Sarin Technologies Ltd. is a worldwide leader in the development and manufacturing of advanced planning, evaluation and measurement systems for diamond and gemstone production. Sarin products include diamond cut and color grading tools, the Galaxy 1000 inclusion mapping system, rough diamond optimisation systems, laser cutting and shaping systems and laser-marking and inscription machines. Sarin systems have become an essential gemology tool in every properly equipped gem lab, diamond appraisal business and manufacturing plant, and are today considered essential items by both diamond dealers and retailers.

Bhavani Gems, established in 1980, is a sightholder of both DeBeers DTC and BHP Billiton and is an ISO 9001:2000 certified company, with a workforce of over 6,000 employees in 13 factories in Gujarat. Bhavani Gems has earned a reputation amongst suppliers, customers and industry peers as King of Stars. Bhavani Gems is proud to have previously received Sarin's Centurion award for having over 100 of Sarin's planning systems. Bhavani Gems just recently achieved a manufacturing marvel having produced the world's smallest certified cut and polished diamond (trademarked the Bhavani Mikro) with a full complement of 57 facets weighing just 0.0003 carat or 0.00006 grams. This is the smallest diamond ever certified by an independent internationally recognized laboratory, as has been acknowledged by the Limca Book of Records.
