Fiberlink Communications Corporation, the provider of cloud-based Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) solutions, announced that Mizuno USA, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Mizuno Corporation, one of the largest specialty sporting goods manufacturers in the world, has chosen the MaaS360 platform for IT asset management. Mizuno USA will use Fiberlink's MaaS360 Mobile Service on all of its laptop computers for mobile device management and roaming Wi-Fi connectivity. The MaaS360 Visibility Service will be used for desktop management. MaaS360 will also provide operating system and application patch management, as well as anti-virus updates.

Like many enterprises, managing hardware and software inventory was a significant challenge for Mizuno USA. The company used three different interfaces to keep track of its IT assets, and the inventory process could take months to complete. Using MaaS360, Mizuno USA will manage its entire hardware and software inventory through just one interface, providing a centralized management solution to rapidly track all devices and applications. Fiberlink will also help Mizuno USA better analyze how its executives and employees are utilizing remote network connections, leading to improved service and cost savings.

“IT asset management had been an ongoing headache for us, but now Fiberlink provides us with a centralized visibility solution across all devices,” said Bill Dawson, technical services manager, Mizuno USA, Inc. “Using MaaS360, we're able to obtain accurate licensing counts and provide the mobility service we need for our traveling executives through a simple and non-intrusive client. Fiberlink's platform will also play a key role in testing for Windows 7 readiness as we begin to migrate our machines this year.”

Prior to MaaS360, Mizuno used four separate consoles for visibility into anti-virus, firewall and patch status for their corporate and remote users. Fiberlink conveniently delivers all of this data in one portal, enabling Mizuno USA to quickly assess compliance levels in detail and address problem areas immediately. Because the MaaS360 platform is cloud-based, Mizuno USA did not need to make a large capital investment for additional servers, software or facilities. MaaS360 is simple to deploy and operate, and can easily scale as new users are added.

“MaaS360 helps streamline desktop management and mobile device management for Mizuno USA,” said Ben Tizer, professional services manager at Fiberlink. “Utilizing Fiberlink's platform, Mizuno USA can now have transparent visibility into its machines and the networks used to connect to the enterprise. MaaS360 also instantly solves the challenges associated with patch management and endpoint security.”

Mizuno USA, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mizuno Corporation, one of the largest specialty sporting goods manufacturers in the world. Mizuno USA, Inc. manufactures and distributes golf, baseball, softball, running, track & field, and volleyball equipment, apparel, and footwear for North America. Mizuno USA, Inc. is based in Norcross, Georgia.
