[TC]² to introduce 'Scan at Home' application

A strategic goal for Textile/Clothing Technology Corp - [TC]² is to provide the ability for anyone anywhere to be able to create a high quality digital model of their body for a wide variety of purposes. These uses begin with apparel applications and include such things as made to measure clothing, size prediction of stock size clothing, and real time visualization of clothing on your body (virtual fashion).
The applications provide significant value to manufacturers, retailers, and consumers by providing information about the consumer that greatly enhances the efficiency of the supply pipeline and increases customer satisfaction while reducing returns. Other high value applications utilizing 3D digital bodies include health, fitness, and medical applications as well as entertainment and gaming.
Until now [TC]² has provided two paths towards achieving this goal - high quality and low cost 3D body scanners, and online “Avatar Engines” which produce 3D bodies using manual measurement inputs and digital photos.
The disadvantage of online manual measurement based systems is that the resulting 3D data is only as good as the measurements which are input – which can result in questionable accuracy if special care is not taken in measuring.
To address this limitation [TC]² will be introducing its “Scan at Home” application at the upcoming 3D body scanning conference in Switzerland October 19-20 hosted by Hometrica Consulting. In the near future, this application will enable consumers to create good quality 3D avatars and measurements without the issues of taking manual measurements.
