Upscale consignment retailer picks Retail Anywhere

Retail Anywhere, a leading provider of point of sale and retail management systems for midsize retailers, announced that Second Time Around of Boston, MA has selected Retail Anywhere's next-generation POS and retail management solution to support its growth of additional store locations and large consignor base.
A leader in the upscale consignment retail business, Second Time Around has 25 stores located in the trendiest shopping districts in the US. Since opening its doors in 1973, Second Time Around has grown its fashion empire with new and almost-new designer clothing and accessories with brand names such as Chanel, Diane von Furstenberg and Marc Jacobs and boasts a consignor base of more than 50,000 active consignors.
"After a comprehensive search for a new retail POS system, we found Retail Anywhere to be the best fit and provider for our multi-location retail consignment business," said Howie Green, CFO for Second Time Around. "With the new system in place we'll have chain-wide visibility and real-time information enabling us to make better business decisions."
Second Time Around's antiquated retail system will be replaced with IBM SurePOS 300 hardware and Retail Anywhere's software suite using the Software as a Service (SaaS) delivery model. The SaaS model from Retail Anywhere includes a hybrid of on-demand and on-premise software along with professional services, upgrades, maintenance and support; all with minimal upfront costs and low monthly fees. The retail SaaS solution also reduces requirements for IT resources and time required to have retailers up and running on a new system.
The new solution will provide Second Time Around with an easy-to-use, integrated system that delivers consolidated information enabling the retailer to make better business decisions. The new retail system will also integrate with the retailers accounting software delivering a streamlined process for dealing with a large consignor base and the paid out functionality required for consignment retail.
