Two major industry publications have recognized Silver Jeans Co. for its innovation and strategic operations. Silver Jeans is a key customer of Centric Software, Inc., a leading provider of PLM solutions for makers of fashion, luxury goods and consumer goods industries.

Consumer Goods Technology (CGT) has named Silver Jeans Co. a Standout SMB (small and mid-market business) to watch in 2011. Standout SMBs, according to the publication, are consumer goods companies with revenues of $1 billion or less that are doing well despite a shaky economy and steep market competition. The recognized firms display true product innovation, and employ must-have technologies and non-traditional marketing strategies.

The Standout SMBs are companies that “the rest of the consumer goods market should watch for inspiration,” says CGT. One of fewer than a dozen companies to receive the recognition, Silver Jeans Co. cited recent strategic moves that included the creation of a unified brand identity, establishment of a brand “bible,” and deployment of the Centric 8 PLM suite to accelerate product line expansion despite a shaky economy.

Apparel Magazine has named Silver Jeans Co. a “Top Innovator.” The selected companies are “the truly innovative organizations in the industry, ones that have demonstrated exceptionality through an IT-related implementation, product launch or some other outstanding business strategy,” according to the publication. Saluting “key visionary firms shaping the industry,” the magazine's profiles highlight “ingenuity in overcoming challenges, willingness to adapt to change, and flair for tapping into consumer desires in a highly competitive global marketplace.”

Silver Jeans received the recognition for its 2010 implementation of PLM technology to accelerate product line expansion in a challenging economic environment. The company completed the first stage of implementation of the Centric 8 PLM suite in just 12 weeks, a new record at that time for Centric, and was able to use PLM in current-year product cycles.

"These recognitions are a testament to Silver Jeans' market leadership and smart strategic thinking,” says Chris Groves, president and CEO of Centric. “The citations are another example of how technology investments that allow companies to better manage product development and brand expansion are absolutely critical for fast-moving consumer products companies to win in a difficult economy.”

Centric Software is a leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for companies in the apparel, luxury goods and consumer goods industries. Centric 8 delivers easy-to-use functionality to manage critical, inseparable business processes, including product development, sourcing, line planning and profitability management, through a modularized system that implements and delivers value rapidly.
