US based RFID solution provider SML RFID has added three new RFID Solution Innovation Centres, which are complete RFID resource testing facilities for retailers. These centres will house RFID tag testing and RFID hardware and software demonstration and application to help retailers to test RFID in the configurations they require, for their own use.

One new centre opened in August 2016 and is housed in the company's new SML RFID headquarters, while another was opened in Shanghai, China in October and the third one opened in November in Mettmann, Germany.

These new centres join the existing RFID Innovation Centres in Clayton, North Carolina and Corby, UK, bringing the number to five.

According to CTO at SML RFID, Dean Frew, whatever questions retailer's have about RFID, they will find the answer at these Innovation Centres, with the help of the SML team.

“In 2015 only six percent of retailers used RFID systems, but the massive RFID retail rollouts coming in 2016 and 2017, mean more companies will move forward following their peers,” he added. (AR)
