Supreme Corporation shows smart yarns at Wearable Expo

Supreme Corporation, a leader in high-tech and innovative textiles, fibre, and safety apparel, and manufacturer of innovative specialty yarns, showed its VOLT Smart Yarns at the recently held 4th Wearable Expo, a trade fair for wearable devices and technologies, at the Tokyo international exhibition centre, Japan, from January 17 to 19, 2018, in booth 1657.

Supreme and VOLT Smart Yarns continue their success, after recently winning the Industrial Fabric Association International (“IFAI”) Show Stopper award for excellence in innovation.

Introduced in September 2017 as a division of Supreme Corporation’s innovative products, VOLT Smart Yarns offers the only conductive yarn through four highly conductive insulated wires that can be used as a sewing thread in both the needle and bobbin. With patents pending around the world, the yarn is able to send power, signals, ground and micro processing capabilities. Due to its ability to deliver one-of-a-kind custom products, VOLT Smart Yarns is shaping the dialogue for what is possible with smart textiles and wearable devices. Most recently, Supreme Corporation together with PPS won recognition at IFAI for the world’s first smart protective vest for law enforcement personnel, SmartVest, that utilises VOLT Smart Yarns to transmit information wirelessly, in real-time.

The Wearable Expo features over 170 exhibitors from around the world and attracts thousands of visitors each year, offering an exciting glimpse into the future of wearable technology. (GK)
