Ramco Group Textile Division - An entity with around 125 US Million dollar turn over, deriving 60% of the same through Export, is a scion of the renowned conglomerate Ramco Group , engaged in diverse fields of manufacturing- like Textile, Cement, fibre cement sheets, Seamless Pipes, Biotechnology, Surgical products, Software etc...The Ramco Group is well known across the whole of India and selected parts of the world, for its business ethics, professional management, social awareness and philanthropic activities. As per the saying that every big thing has a modest and humble beginning, Ramco Group also had its origin in the form of a small textile mills by name "Rajapalayam Mills Ltd" established in the year 1938 by the late visionary Sri PAC Ramasamy Raja as a public Ltd company at a time when the reverberations of Industrial revolution had not reached and the concept of share holding was not popular in small and agrarian villages like Rajapalayam in Tamil Nadu. He proved his vision successful as the founder of the group. His son the present Chairman Sri. P. R. Ramasubrahmaneya Rajha has been carrying on his father's dreams, converting them into reality and converging various operations under one single group. His ambitious and broad outlook add new feathers to the crown of the group and make it the most sought-after provider to cater to the varied needs of consumers world over with perennial rejuvenated looks.

RAMCO GROUP TEXTILE DIVISION
The Rajapalayam Mills Ltd. was started with a meager spindles of 6000 with all machinery being imported. The growth of the Ramco Textile Division from there is phenomenal today with the spindlage increased to many fold as follows
Total Spindlage : - 4 Lakhs (Spanning over 9 Mills)
Total Rotor: - 12400 (Spanning over 6 Mills)
Value added products like Compact, Elitwist, Gassed, Soft package and Slub yarns are an integral part of the production capacity of the division. Being committed to customer's ecstasy, the division has been modernized then and there with the latest state of the art machinery from world, renowned manufactures like Rieter, Savio, Murata, Saurer etc...The Division has never hesitated to venture upon new concepts and come out successful by converting the concept to its business success.

RAJAPALAYAM MILLS LTD.
The flagship mill of Ramco Group Textile Division was established in the year 1938 with 6000 spindles. Strict quality standards, constant desire for innovation and implementation of latest technology have resulted in consistent progress.

It was a total capacity of 71168 spindles with 22816 Ring Spindles, 36352 Compact spindles, 9600 Elitwist Compact spindle and 2400 Spindles of Amsler slub attachment.

SUDARSANAM SPINNING MILLS
Stringent quality control measures have resulted in consistent delivery of high quality yarn to customers. This has resulted in the progressive growth of the mill as evident from the increased sales turnover over the years. Ramco has pioneered once again, by recently establishing a new unit at Silvassa located near Gujarat, North India with a strategic advantage owing to the close proximity to cotton growing fields and yarn markets.

Sudarasanam Spinning Mills is Rajapalayam is 100% Compact Spinning Mill with a total installed spindle of 41856 of which 25056 spindles are of Suessen Compact and 16800 Spindles of Rieter R 441 with Auto doffing and linked to Auto Coner.

Sudarsanam Spinning Mills, Silvassa unit is having spindle capacity of 28800.

SRI VISHNU SHANKAR MILL LTD
A modern mill with the latest machines from renowned textile machinery manufacturers. A continuous modernization program has guaranteed high quality and timely delivery of yarn to customers.

This unit has a total spindles of 64032 compressing 27936 normal ring spindles, 16416 Suessen Compact spindles and 16800 spindles of Rieter K441 with Auto doffer and linked to Auto Coners.

SANDHYA SPINNING MILL LTD

Commitment to Quality system and modernization plans with sophisticated machinery combined with a professional work force ensure consistent progress in producing yarn of super fine counts.

In Sandhya Spinning the total spindle capacity is 50352 out of which 21456 spindles are normal ring spindles, 9072 Suessen Compact Spindles, 16800 Rieter K441 spindles with and linked to Auto Coner and 3024 spindles of Amsler Slub yarn attachment.

THANJAVUR SPINNING MILL LTD
Taken into the fold of Ramco Group Textile Division since 2001, this mill is progressing well and with planned modernization its all set to become a leading producer of high quality yarns.

This unit has an installed capacity of 50160 spindles out of which 12096 spindles are Suessen Compact attachment.

RAJAPALAIYAM SPINTEXT
A division of Rajapalayam Mills Ltd., it has established its presence in the most quality-conscious market of Japan in technical collaboration with Dokobo through Mitsubishi with its high quality yarn and its brands well known in Japan. Commitment to continued improvement and stringent quality control measures ensure a good business even when exports continue to soar. Recently it has been awarded "Usterized" certificate by M/s Uster Technologies, Switzerland, and it is the first company to be awarded such a coveted certificate in South India.

This will with a total spindles of 33552, has 13872 normal Ring Spindles, 16800 Spindles of Rieter K 441 Compact frames linked to Auto Coner and 1920 spindles of Rieter K43 Compact Frames.

SRI RAMCO SPINNERS

Another Spinning Unit. It mainly caters to the needs of Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Honduras. A Quality-driven mill with passion for excellence ensures products delivered with the highest quality.

Sri Ramco Spinners has a total spindles capacity of 43296 compressing of 14400 normal spindles, 4032 spindles with Amsler slub attachment, 6048 spindles of Suessen compact, 2016 spindles of Suessen Elitwist compact and 16800 spindles of Rieter K 441 Compact system with link system to Auto Coner.

RAJAPALAIYAM TEXTILES

Another mill, a division of Rajapalayam Mills Ltd has the distinction of exporting 100% of its production to Unitika Japan through Mitsubishi Corporation since its inception. With adoption of their technical know-how our yarns are used in very large and sophisticated end use applications of fabrics.

This unit is having 17136 spindles with 15120 normal spindles and 2016 spindles of Rieter K 44 Compact systems.

OE PROJECT IN ANDHRA PRADESH
Ramco Group Textile Division has started Open End Spinning project with 25 machines spread over 5 units in Andhra Pradesh with latest Savio Flexi Rotor S3000 Madel machines having auto doffing and auto piecing compressing. This unit is capable of producing 100% Virgin Cotton Open End yarn and also 100% Viscose yarn.

QUALITY CONTROL
Quality control begins from cotton itself

Cotton undergoes stringent inspection schedules, right from hand classing at fields by experienced hands, and sometimes the brass of the division, to instrumental testing at the state of the art testing laboratory, with upkeep of the instruments and calibration done as per laid procedures.

The in-process materials are inspected at all stages and sub standard materials are either reprocessed or rejected according to severity. Well defined quality norms are followed to confirm conformity. The outgoing materials are subject to vigilant and stringent quality control inspection almost daily and the lots not complying with our norms are rejected straight away. The sophisticated and versatile Uster Testing Instruments and other popular Instruments are used in testing as follows

Uster Spectrum :
100% Fibre testing for all parameters.

Uster Tester 4 / Uster Tester 5 :
Testing of evenness of materials and other allied parameters like Hair, density, dust particle, dia and Trash. Simulation of fabric to forecast yarn behaviour in down stream process is also available.

Uster Tensorapid 3 & Uster Tensojet
Tensile Strength, Elongation%, work done and RKM

Uster Classimat :
To check infrequent faults in the yarn in 33 classes and forecast performance in subsequent processes.

ACCREDITATIONS TO QUALITY
The Division has achieved the following accreditations to proclaim its strict adherence to quality.

  1. To use "Supima" label on its yarns spun from 100% Supima Cotton.
  2. "Usterized" certificate to assure that 100% testing is carried on unrivalled Uster instruments.
  3. Oeko-Tex certificate to ensure that the yarn does not contain any harmful substance.
  4. Certificate to produce and sell organic cotton yarns as per customers requirements from control union certifications (formerly skal international).
