BTTG (British Textile Technology Group) is a UK-based internationally renowned, independent, external support organization, providing an extensive range of testing and certification services worldwide. BTTG was created in 1988 and was formed by merger of the Shirley Institute and Wool Industry Research Association (WIRA), two internationally recognized organizations with histories stretching back 85 years.
The group has three operating companies in UK and three overseas offices namely China, India and Singapore.
BTTG Testing and Certification (BTTG T&C) specializes in the testing and certification of Personal Protective Clothing (PPE), Geosynthetics, Floor coverings and other construction and performance textile products.
Shirley Technologies (STL) provides a broad range of services to the traditional textile and apparel sector. It specializes in Chemical Testing, Defect Analysis and provides Eco-certification such as Oeko-Tex®, Made in Green and REACH
Shirley Dyeing and Finishing is a manufacturing unit. It offers small scale spinning and nonwoven production facilities, and is a commission dyer and finisher of fabrics.
