Tana Bana was born out of the desire to revive the glory of the Bhagalpur Tasar Silk industry by providing the quality products of the weavers with adequate market linkages through active partnership and shared ownership of the organization. Over a relatively short span of time it has transformed into a larger platform by working towards a vision to ultimately provide a global retailing & aggregating platform for exquisite hand crafted products that are made through traditional techniques & processes carried out by hereditary artisans and weavers.

Our artisans blend indigenous art & craft techniques with contemporary designs to bring aesthetic and exclusive products to the end consumers in order to assist them in their quest to find quality products.

Tana Bana was founded with a dream of creating a sustainable organization with progressive environment, societal and human rights policies – a business that strives to meet the "Triple Bottom Line" (also known as "people, planet, profit").

The vision is to have a business that is ultimately owned by promoters, investors, employees and last but not the least; the primary producers of the craft products. We believe that profit is just a basic necessary evil to keep our business sustainable. At the same time, the promoters are very clear in their view that any such profit must be shared with the primary producers as they are the ones who create the products which ultimately sell in the market. Therefore, they are the most important and deserving stakeholder in the whole process.

iii) Ownership & profit sharing with the end producers and develop entrepreneurs from amongst them.
