The society was conformed between seven of the biggest Colombian textile companies and the Dutch conglomerate AKU, later Akzo Nobel. The plant site was built near the town of Girardota, 28 Km. north of the city of Medellín. Previewing the expansion of the company, the land for the factory has 185 acres. The production started in 1966 with 402 workers and capacity to produce 4200 t. Since then the company has been in permanent growth; at present the company generates more than 6200 direct and indirect jobs and sells more than USD 240 millions and 120.000 MT. Currently the company quotes in the Colombian Stocks Exchange Market and is ruled under a Corporate Governance Code.
