Zahra Spinning & Weaving Mills (SMC-PVT) Ltd instituted in January 2005 to gain a leadership position in the quality yarn market. The growing robustness in the performance of the commodity in the international market, as well as the increased inclination of European and American manufacturers towards sourcing yarn from Third World countries, a facility that sets the precedent for the production of export-quality yarn, was deemed essential.

Zahra Spinning & Weaving Mills (SMC-PVT) Ltd commenced its commercial production in August 2006 and has an installed capacity of 25,200 spindles capable of producing only quality medium to fine count yarns. This state-of-the-art textile spinning unit is based on one of the best available technology internationally.

The plant produces on an average, 7.5 million Ibs of yarn per annum, half of which consist of compact yarn. Stringent raw material selection, testing and the use of only Premium quality cottons available around the globe are our sureties of raw material input. Emphasis however remains on Egypt and USA to be our main suppliers for our quality conscious up market - local and export customers.

Our product range includes 100% cotton based Carded/Combed and Compact Yarns from Ne 20/s, Ne 80/s we also have doubling to provide double yarns.

COMPACT YARN ADVANTAGE:

1. The strength of compact yarn is higher than normal yarn by 15%.
2. Elongation is higher by about 20%.
3. Compact spun yarn has better abrasion resistance by about 25%.
4. The quality of fabric produced is better in terms of strength) elongation, low hairiness) low twist, low abrasion, improved uniformity and output per spindle.
5. The use of compact yarn leads to good wear behavior, less dye consumption, and lower thread break rates.
6. Improves efficiency in production, fabric appearance and luster of the fabric.

Compact yarn also enables the retention of higher stretch recovery, which is an advantage especially in shirting fabrics with an iron-free finish.

The compact yarns produced by us are used by our clients in the production of fine quality shirts, knitwear, bed linen and lawn fabrics. The plant and machinery allow the flexibility to switch production between different yarn counts, thus enabling the unit to cater to varied & global market requirements.
