Founded in 1978 in Paris, Lecoanet Hemant is a traditional Haute Couture house creating men and women wear par excellence: garments are unique pieces of art, hand made to perfection abiding the principles of a secular manufacturing tradition. Didier Lecoanet and Hemant Sagar brought together a unique design sensibility as they earned their laurels at the prestigious Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne and then started together their couture label. As they made a name within a worldly urban chic clientele, one of their first milestones was opening an atelier in the heart of Paris - over Rue Faubourg St Honore. The fashion industry soon thereafter honored the designer duo’s work by awarding them the Golden Thimble (Le De d’Or) in 1994, the only accolade for Haute Couture. To meet the needs of a growing international clientele, the pioneering brand moved to New Delhi in 2002 to build an “atelier”, uncompromising on strict traditions, yet completely in line with today’s cutting-edge technology. This combination of innovation and tradition is reflected in Lecoanet Hemant’s collections, which are a rare alliance of East and West, a lasting continuation of yesterday and tomorrow. The team’s latest brainchild is LH Cares, a new line of ayurvedic clothing, made of organic cotton and permeated with special herbs and oils designed to restore balance and boost the immune system.
