2. COMPANY HISTORY
Bazum Firm industrial cooperative was founded in 1928. From the beginning Bazum became a leader in the textile industry in Armenia. Bazum produced apparel and bed linen for export and local markets. In 1987 Bazum moved to a new location to accommodate a significant increase in its production capacity. Three new factory buildings were built and equipped with modern machinery which was mostly purchased from Japanese manufacturers. At present Bazum occupies an area of about 10 hectares. Bazum continues to be a recognised leader in producing high quality stylish clothing for men, women and children in Armenia.
3. PRODUCT ASSORTMENT
Bazum makes all types of men, women and children apparel. Our advanced equipment and highly skilled workforce ensure flexibility and ease in meeting the requirements for various types and styles of clothing. The wide range of products we have produced so far includes spring jackets, skiwear, winter coats, shorts, trousers and dresses. We can work with various fabrics including fleece, cotton, wool, synthetics, rayon, polyester etc.
4. CAPACITIES
There are 16 sewing lines at Bazum. Each line can retain up to 55 employees. We have enough capacity to produce 80,000-100,000 pieces of the most complicated models of jackets per month. We have highly qualified workforce. Average salary of a skilled worker in our cooperative is about US$150-200 equivalent in Armenian Drams. Our costs are very competitive and our quality is superior to that of other low-cost producers’.
