Shibori, a form of tie-dying which originated in Japan, has been practiced for centuries in China, India, Africa and Latin America. The fabric is folded, wrapped, twisted or pleated and then secured with string before being dyed. When unbound, distinctive patterns emerge, making each piece completely unique.
