As compared with conventional indigo dyeing, TENCEL™ Modal with Indigo Color technology typically has a smaller carbon footprint and offers savings of water, chemicals and energy while producing less waste. Resource savings will vary depending on specific operating parameters; as an indication, in tests conducted by Lenzing2 the following savings were achieved:

In general, the higher the percentage of TENCEL™ Modal with Indigo Color technology used in the fabric, the greater the potential savings. Lenzing’s results are based on tests using 100 per cent LENZING™ Modal Color Indigo fibres. Customers are recommended to perform their own calculations based on their individual variables and are responsible for the accuracy of the results.
