In today’s performance-driven textile industry, fabric producers must meet increasingly stringent specifications from leading brands and retailers. DyStar’s latest generation of high-wet fastness Dianix XF2/XF3 are specifically engineered to address this challenge, delivering ‘high wet fastness’ and ‘excellent storage migration fastness’ in apparel, sportswear, and workwear. These disperse dyes can be used in combination with DyStar’s Cadira® modules to further optimise the polyester dyeing processes and save valuable resources.

As garments are transported, stored, and folded—especially colour-blocked ones—dye migration can occur, leading to staining and fastness issues. Storage migration fastness tests, such as AATCC TM163, can assess the potential for colour transfer in garments during extended storage or transportation.

To evaluate DyStar’s Dianix dyes performance, samples are tested under the AATCC TM163 test with the conditions of 38±1°C for 4 hours. DyStar’s Dianix XF2/XF3 smart recipes achieve excellent results, compared to competitor recipes, where dye migration is observed. This highlights the critical role of the dye selection in avoiding migration and staining issues.

Dianix XF2/XF3 range is hence highly recommended to ensure the durability and quality of the sportswear and high-end apparel.

Dianix® Black XF3 300% – Deep Black with Highest Fastness
When dyeing deep black, achieving excellent wet fastness is especially challenging. Storage migration resistance becomes even more crucial, as deep shades are more prone to staining.

Based on DyStar’s innovative patented disperse dye chemistry, Dianix Black XF3 300% represents a new generation of high wet fastness dyes that successfully address this issue.

Apart from being suitable for exhaust dyeing, it shows good compatibility and build-up with Dianix XF2 dyes. It offers the highest levels of wet-fastness and storage migration fastness on 100% polyester, polyester/elastane and polyester/cotton blends for deep black colours.

Dianix Black XF3 300% also complies with key Restricted Substance Lists (RSL), and is listed on bluesign® finder and ZDHC Gateway, making it an ideal choice for achieving deep black shades with performance that meets the strictest brand expectations. Sustainable Processing with Cadira® Concepts

An example of the benefits of a fully optimised process by use of Scour/dyeing, Optidye PES and optimised reduction clearings, compared to conventional processing.

Choosing the right dye involves many considerations. While performance is a top priority, a good dyeing recipe should also support the textile supply chain’s environmental and efficiency goals. DyStar’s customers are able to achieve this while using recommended Dianix dyes and the respective Cadira modules.

The recommended modules are:

  • Cadira Polyester and Cadira Recycled Polyester modules, which improve Right-First-Time performance while using Optidye® PES, offering additional resource-saving options through scour/dyeing and in-bath reduction clearing for exhaust processing.
  • Cadira Polyester/Cellulosic Exhaust and Cadira Reactive/Disperse Continuous modules, which eliminate the need for reduction clearing in most cases—especially in polyester/cellulose blends—through alkaline cleaning of unfixed dyes.

In general, these modules offer eco-efficient solutions that reduce water, energy, and chemical consumption—without compromising dye performance.
