Increasing newer legislations to preserve environment, environment consciousness, and human rights, scarcity of energy and water has driven R&D efforts in search of safe substitutes. Steps have been taken at various stages of processing of textiles to ensure quality of products, especially in the decentralized sector. Important guidelines for cost saving measures by process modifications and adopting new concepts based on modern technological changes are also mentioned. The importance of using eco-friendly dyes and chemicals is also highlighted in view of latest ban on the export of textiles using such dyes.
Hence the processing of textile in future should be gentle, cost effective and environment-friendly to the textile material. Innovative and efficient strategies to achieve these goals are needed. This paper reports various problems in different stages of processing textile materials and their green solutions the alternatives by which the problems can be avoided through innovative techniques and various measures of energy and water conservation which makes Textile processing ECO-FRIENDLY, COST EFFECTIVE and GREEN in future.
