In this work, single jersey-plain structure and its three derivatives namely cross miss, modified airtex and bird's eye were predicted and its properties were analyzed by developing samples in industrial knitting machines. Knit view system had been programmed by using user friendly interface of visual basic to visualize the appearance of new structures which would give us the GSM, length shrinkage and width shrinkage of the four selected knitted structures indifferent relaxation conditions.

The role of computer simulation is vital in both academic and industrial field. With this, we could possibly visualize and analyze the performance of material before fabric production on the machine, as a result of which sample preparation cost and time can be avoided. There are various softwares available in the market for simulation.

Hakan Ozdemir and Gungor Baser had developed computer simulations of woven fabric structures based on photographs taken from actual yarns along their lengths.Yarn images were obtained using a digital video camera. Yarns like carded, combed, worsted and fancy yarns were used to generate fabric simulations. The yarns chosen ranged between 6 and 60 metric counts. Nuray ucar and et.al developed CAD software for appearance of weft knitted fabric and compared with actual fabric appearance.
