Calvin Woodings

Calvin Woodings acquired his BSc in Chemistry on a Courtaulds scholarship. He joined the Courtaulds Research Division with the credit of being the group"s first Research fellow. He had managed several research teams including Staple Fibre Development, Tyre-yarn Research, Nonwovens Development, Surgical Product Development and Tampon Development. Later, Calvin left the Research to become a Market Development Director in Courtaulds Lyocell® with responsibilities for commercialising this industrial version of Tencel®.

He has presented papers and chaired sessions at many nonwovens conferences around the world. He has acquired numerous patents on fibres and non-woven’s including new applications for lyocell fibre. He had served on many EDANA committees and worked as a Chairman of the Technical Committee and its task-forces. He is a Technical Consultant to Nonwovens Report International, a contributing editor to ITS-Publishing’s Textile News Network and on the Editorial Board of INDA"s Journal of Engineered Fibers and Fabrics.
