David W. Fraser

David W. Fraser

David W. Fraser acquired his B.A. from the Haverford College, and M.D. from the Harvard Medical School. Trained as a physician and epidemiologist, David has also extended his career into liberal arts education, international development and textiles. His work on textile focuses on textile structure and the cultural role of textiles in traditional societies.

Currently, David holds multiple positions as a Research Associate at The Textile Museum in Washington, DC, a Consulting Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, in Philadelphia; and also as a Juried Member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen.

He has authored many papers and two books: "A Guide to Weft Twining and Related Structures with Interacting Wefts" and "Mantles of Merit: Chin Textiles from Myanmar, India and Bangladesh".
