Kimberly Hart

Kimberly Hart has completed her Ph.D. in Socio-Cultural Anthropology from the Indiana University in 2005. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor at the Buffalo State College, New York.

Kimberly has conducted research on the DOBAG carpet – weaving cooperative and on textile practices in rural western Turkey. She has also studied the changes in household economy, ideas about gender and Islam resulting from involvement her research project. She has authored various articles and books including “Under Contract: And Then We Work for God: Rural Sunni Islam in Western Turkey”, “Weaving Modernity: Life, Love, and Labor in a Western Antatolian Village”, etc.
