M. Krishnakumar

Dr. M Krishnakumar has completed his Ph.D. in Management Science from Anna University, Chennai. His Ph.D. research was focused on mediating effect of past buying behaviour and past buying experience on future apparel buying intention. He has completed MBA, NET, MSc (Costume Design and Fashion), BSc (Costume Design and Fashion), and Diploma in Textiles.

He has over 28 years of professional experience, of which 15 years is in academic field and 13 years in industry. He has worked in Indonesia for about 8 years in managerial position at several textile and apparel industries. In the academic field, he has worked as an Associate Professor in department of fashion management studies at National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kannur and also as a Principal at Institute of Fashion Technology Kerala in Kollam.

He has published about 34 papers and articles in various national and international journals and magazines. He has also published three books in the field of merchandising and costing. He has presented several papers in national and international conferences and has attended 11 seminars and workshops. He has been a guest speaker in the India Fashion Forum International Conference, Mumbai in 2018. He has given guest lecture at department of Design, Housing and Merchandising, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, US when he visited US as a part of US-India Education Foundation Project.

He has held additional responsibilities like Head of the Department and Project Unit Incharge during his academic career. His area of interests are: Strategic Management, Supply Chain Management, Operation Research (Quantitative Techniques), Retail Management, Consumer Behaviour and Fashion & Export Merchandising. He has been a project coordinator for several state government projects and has been a project member for a project titled ‘A Multi-Dimensional Approach to Meet 21st Century Retailing Education and Industry Challenges’ for India and the US under United States-India Educational Foundation during 2016-18. He has visited several countries like Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and the US.
