Nancy B. Powell

Nancy B. Powell acquired her M.F.A in Fabric Design from the University of Georgia, and completed her post graduation in Marketing & Management at the Furman University. She has 27 years of vast experience of servicing as the Director of Design in many reputed organizations including Milliken & Company, Collins & Aikman, and La France Industries. She is currently working as an associate professor in the North Carolina State University, teaching courses in design and development. She also serves as a faculty member in the Anni Albers Scholars Program which offers a dual degree in design and textile technology.

Ms. Powell’s research interest and expertise are concerned with product development, design management, and textile design. She guides the graduate students in design and development of research studies in the areas of seamless knitting, knit design and product development. She has written articles published on popular journals, and has offered many successful presentations.
