Prabhakar Bhat

Prabhakar Bhat is the Professor and Head of Dept of Textile Technology in Shri Vaishnav Institute of Technology and Science, Indore. He is a learned person, has completed his B. Tech. (Textile) and M. Sc. Tech. (Textile) from SKSJT Institute (Bangalore University), Bangalore and Ph.D. from IIT Delhi.

Dr. Bhat is working in the areas of spinning, weaving, knitting and nonwovens. Of late he is working in Smart Garments and Technical Textiles. He has served in senior positions like, Head of the Department, Director MANTRA, Surat and consultant to industries in weaving and technical textiles. His contribution to teaching and research are commendable, published more than 50 papers in journals and conferences at national and international level. Two of his research works are filed for Indian patent and two more are in the process of filing. R & D being great interest to him, he has developed many products at research level and also commercially. He has put-up a total service of 23 years in teaching and research.

Presently, he is working as Professor and Head, Department of Textile Technology at Shri Vaishnav Institute of Technology and Science, Indore.
