Abu Ghazhaleh Trading Co. (ABCO) LLC is a leading wholesale distributor and manufacturer of apparel, home textiles, and uniforms. The company has its operations across many countries including the Middle-east, Southeast Asia, South Africa, Eastern Europe, and Russia. It is one of the leading names in the textile industry of the gulf countries.
Midhat M. Abu Ghazhaleh has been serving as the CEO of ABCO LLC since the past 30 years. He completed his education from Rawda High School and American University of Beirut. With all this years of experience and a strong educational background, Mr. Ghazhaleh has earned immense respect and knowledge from his peers and the textile industry.
You are in the industry since 1975. How has your journey remained so far? What are your major accomplishments in the industry till now?
We have been supportive of producing quality merchandise at affordable prices with great emphasis on workmanship and quality control with short delivery lead times.
UAE as a market has a lot to offer to brands. Can you explain a bit about the market for branded apparel in UAE?
Branded apparel in UAE has to be considerate of local traditions, climate, trends, and great quality at affordable prices to all income levels.
How would you define the UAE textile industry - saturated or emerging? Please explain your stand.
UAE textile market is evolving positively by adopting new technology methods in production, weaving, knitting and printing. I visualize the market to grow by 10 to 15 percent on an annual basis, especially towards EXPO 2020 and new investment directed towards UAE textile industry.
Where is majority of the UAE textiles and apparels exported? Is majority of the textile and apparel production exported currently or is it consumed the most in the domestic market?
Majority of the apparel produced is being exported to African countries, Russia, CIS countries, US, GCC, MENA.
