FabriCare is where luxury meets durability in home furnishings
FabriCare, a design-led performance fabric brand from D’Decor, offers machine-washable, stain-resistant, and durable materials for furniture and drapery—combining beauty, comfort, and practicality.

With sustainability and technology at its core, FabriCare transforms the way homes experience luxury, making elegance effortless and every day. Fibre2Fashion spoke with Creative Director, Simone Arora about how innovation, design, and durability are redefining modern living.

What inspired you to start FabriCare, and how does it stand out in the textile care industry?

FabriCare was born out of a simple yet powerful idea—to create beautiful fabrics that don’t need protection. As a design-driven brand, we wanted to liberate people from the hassle of maintenance without compromising on aesthetics.
FabriCare redefines performance fabrics by combining luxurious texture, rich design, and enduring functionality—easy clean, stain resistant, fade proof, zero shrinkage, and home wash. It’s where beauty meets technology, and luxury meets practicality.
The FabriCare offering also extends to Blackout curtains that ensure complete light control, energy efficiency, and indoor-outdoor fabrics designed to withstand the weather elements while retaining their comfort and style—making FabriCare versatile across every living space.

How crucial is durability in shaping your product innovation strategy?

Durability is central to our design philosophy. Fabrics are part of people’s everyday lives—they must look new, feel fresh, and perform impeccably over time.
Every FabriCare product is tested for wash cycles, abrasion resistance, and colour fastness to ensure lasting beauty. For us, durability is the new luxury.

How do you approach balancing creativity with functionality in fabric care solutions?

For us, creativity and functionality are two sides of the same fabric. Every collection begins with design—colour, texture, weave, emotion and evolves with technology to ensure longevity and comfort.
Whether it’s a delicate jacquard or a plush velvet, we engineer every yarn to perform beautifully in everyday life.
The goal is always to make fabrics that inspire the eye and endure the touch.

How do you ensure sustainability in your products and processes?

Sustainability is woven into every step, from responsible sourcing and water-efficient dyeing to recyclable packaging and long-life fabrics that reduce waste.
Our mills use advanced effluent treatment systems, and we are continually investing in eco-friendly fibres and digital printing technologies that minimise resource use. Longevity itself is a sustainable choice and FabriCare fabrics are made to last.

How do you stay ahead of trends in both textiles and consumer preferences?

Our creative teams continuously explore global design directions—from Salone del Mobile to Maison & Objet—while staying attuned to evolving lifestyles at home.
We blend international aesthetic sensibilities with Indian living conditions. Consumer insight is key—today’s homes demand fabrics that are stylish, functional, and family-friendly. Our collections cater to this need for effortless luxury.

How do you educate consumers about proper fabric care and product usage?

Education is a cornerstone of our brand. We engage consumers through in-store experiences, digital tutorials, and easy-to-follow fabric care guides.
Our retail partners and franchise stores are trained to demonstrate FabriCare’s features live showing how a fabric resists stains or wipes clean with a simple touch.
The idea is to build trust through transparency and experience.

What collaborations or partnerships have been most impactful for FabriCare?

Our most valuable collaborations have been with global technology partners who share our commitment to innovation and performance. We also work closely with interior designers, architects, and lifestyle brands to bring the FabriCare experience into curated living spaces. These collaborations keep the brand fresh, relevant, and connected to the design community.

What role does technology play in enhancing your offerings?

Technology powers FabriCare’s performance promise. From nano-finish treatments that repel stains and liquids, to fade-resistant outdoor coatings, and advanced weaving systems that ensure dimensional stability; every product reflects innovation.
We also leverage AI-assisted colour mapping and digital design tools to create patterns that are both intricate and scalable across applications.

Can you share a key innovation FabriCare has introduced recently?

Our latest innovation is the Elysian Velvet and Textura Velvet range—designed to combine opulent aesthetics with unmatched performance. These velvets are stain-resistant, easy to maintain, and home-washable, yet retain the luxurious drape and lustre associated with couture fabrics.
We have also expanded our Dreamworld collection for kids—colourful, playful, and allergen-free, designed to be safe for sensitive skin and available for toddlers, pre-teens, and teens.

The new FabriCare range introduces materials like Elysian Velvet and Textura Velvet. How do these fabrics reinterpret traditional festive aesthetics for today’s modern homes?

Elysian and Textura Velvets reimagine festive luxury with contemporary ease. They capture the richness and sheen of traditional Indian celebrations but in a modern, understated palette.
These fabrics are glamorous yet functional—perfect for homes that celebrate beauty every day, not just on occasion. They express indulgence without maintenance anxiety.

With evolving consumer preferences for sustainable yet stylish interiors, how is FabriCare ensuring its collections remain both contemporary and environmentally responsible?

We design with consciousness—selecting fibres and finishes that are environmentally gentle yet aesthetically refined.
Many of our fabrics are water-repellent without harmful fluorocarbons, and our production lines prioritise reduced waste and energy efficiency.
The result is a range that appeals to eco-aware consumers without compromising style or sophistication.

How is the textile care industry adapting to growing consumer demand for sustainable and eco-friendly solutions?

Globally, the industry is moving from fast furnishing to responsible luxury. There’s greater emphasis on recyclable materials, natural finishes, and low-impact manufacturing. FabriCare aligns with this evolution by focusing on durability, reduced maintenance, and responsible processes that minimise waste while maximising product lifespan.

What are the biggest technological advancements shaping fabric care and maintenance today?

Breakthroughs in smart coating technologies, antimicrobial finishes, and digitally engineered weaves are transforming fabric care.
Innovations in fibre science now allow for fabrics that self-clean, resist moisture, and maintain dimensional stability.
Automation and AI are also streamlining colour accuracy and quality control—ensuring consistency at scale.

How do trends in fashion and textiles influence the development of new fabric care products?

Fashion inspires our textile storytelling. The runway’s shift toward comfort, texture, and timeless design translates directly into home fabrics.
We draw from global colour forecasts, fashion detailing, and tactile richness to develop textiles that dress interiors with the same refinement as couture garments—practical, expressive, and enduring.

Where do you see FabriCare evolving in the next 5 years?

Over the next five years, FabriCare will continue to expand its footprint both domestically and internationally. We aim to make performance luxury the new norm in Indian homes.
Our aim is to expand into every furnishing category in homes and commercial segment.
We have recently expanded into FabriCare Rugs and Blinds, FabriCare Dreamworld, a kid’s bedding range, offering best-in-class products.
Soon, our consumers will also be offered ready-made furnishings with the promise of beauty and performance. Innovation, sustainability, and design excellence will remain at the heart of this journey.
