Digital printing is rapidly growing in apparel segment
Since its inception in 2011, True Colors Pvt Ltd is a leading supplier of products and solutions in the field of digital textile industry. Being amongst the pioneers, the company offers a one window solution for those venturing in the digital printing industry. Speaking to Fibre2Fashion True Colors’ GM-Sales & Marketing Pratik N Mehta discusses digital printing and the rise in demand post-COVID.

Do you see a difference in the demand for printing machines pre- and post-COVID?

The first year after COVID was full of negative vibes for the market situation, but there has been a huge increase in demand of digital printing machines post-COVID. Since the last quarter, we are observing that customers are taking more interest in digital printing segment.
 

Which are your major markets in India and abroad?

2022 has been the year of growth and start-ups. There has been a phenomenal growth seen in digital printing industry. Many new big and small customers are showing interest to invest in digital printing technology. The market has been growing equally in almost all the regions where textile industry is based.

What is the demand like in the domestic market for textile machinery at the moment?

We believe that the rate of conversion from analogue printing to digital printing has increased. So, we are seeing more demand in digital printing machines as well as the supporting machineries to fulfil the printing cycle like steamers, washing ranges, stenters, etc which are needed for the pre and post printing treatment.

What is the demand like in the domestic market for textile machinery at the moment?

Are you witnessing a pickup in orders from domestic manufacturers?

Indian textile market has always been festival centric. However, due to the increasing demand from the overseas clients, there has been a considerable pick up observed from domestic manufacturers and traders.

What kind of after sales services do you offer?

We at True Colors have a team of 300+ highly trained and committed people through whom it is our endeavour to provide the best of class service to our clients in digital printing industry. We have maintained an excellent track record and relationship with our suppliers and vendors.
We have vast service set up and practically we are on our toes 24x7 to serve our clients. We have a technically sound team of 50+ engineers widespread across Indian geography. We are also one of the biggest suppliers of ink used for digital printing and we have never compromised on the quality of the same as ink in digital printing is the most critical parameter. Our volume of ink has gone as high as 900 tonnes per annum.

What kind of after sales services do you offer?

What new technologies and brands do you plan to add to your product basket in the future?

True Colors is an exclusive distributor of Konica Minolta Inc, Atexco (Hangzhou Honghua Digital Co Ltd), Itten (Hangzhou Maxunion Digital Device Corp), and Wuxi Pengda Science & Technology Co Ltd. These are pioneer OEMs who invest highly in R&D and product development to provide the best quality product line with cost effectiveness.

Besides garments, where do you see the application of digital printing growing?

Digital printing is rapidly growing in apparel segment. It has been gaining interest in home furnishings industry as well. The shortened process cycles of digital printing technology have attracted many customers in the Indian market.

What has been your growth story for the last two years?

True Colors has been strongly growing post-COVID and we have made a phenomenal growth of more than 25 per cent in the last two years. We are confident that the growth rate will further increase in the coming years.

What is next in the pipeline at True Colours?

True Colors is continuously adding to its free cash-flow to better serve its end users. OEMs are coming up with new products every year, which will help the industry reach the next level in terms of performance and productivity. True Colors is also investing in DFT (direct film transfer) technology and position printing. It has a very bright future in digital printing technology.
