We are increasing capacities
Galvanin has more than 50 years of experience in the production of textile equipment, and specialises in dyeing, drying and automatic handling with robots for yarn in packages, hanks, loose fibres, fabric, tops and tow. President Marcello Galvanin talks about the company's expansion plans and the latest technologies in an interview with Fibre2Fashion.

Which technologies did you showcase at ITMA Asia '18?

We displayed a new cotton fibre bleaching system for the Asian market. This technology is mainly used for bleaching cotton fibre for spunlace nonwoven fabrics. The bleaching is done before the actual nonwoven process begins. The final fabric is used to produce medical consumables like bandages, etc. We offer machinery beginning from bale opener till dryer and are the only company supplying the whole system. We also offer automatic and robotic technologies for yarn dyeing, which is also highly energy-efficient, mainly for the dryer. The whole process does not need any worker, but only one operator. The payback period is within 2-3 years. This system can replace around 15 workers per shift.

Are your technologies Industry 4.0 compliant?

All our technologies are Industry 4.0 compliant. We also offer 24 hours service from our headquarters with the help of a remote.

How important are the Chinese and Southeast Asian markets for your company?

For the past five years, the Chinese market has accounted for 30 per cent of our production. We have customers in most Southeast Asian markets like Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.

To how many countries do you export?

We export worldwide to countries even in South and North America like Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico. We got a very big project in the US last year. We also export to Russia, Middle East, North Africa and Europe.

What are your plans for 2019?

At present, we are trying to reduce delivery times, which was almost one year earlier. We are in the process of increasing capacities by investing in new production technology. This will reduce delivery times significantly.

What will you be showing at ITMA Barcelona in June 2019?

We have planned to show new automated technologies related to yarn drying at ITMA Barcelona. Currently, we are testing the machine at a customer's factory. We have a bigger booth at ITMA Barcelona than the one here at ITMA Asia'18. (HO)
