Job Description
Supervising the design team to align them with the seasons calendar.Monitoring each designers task and making sure the deliverables are met as per requirement.Doing thorough research for any season and adapting trends and forecast as per the market requirement.Creating or visualizing an idea and producing computer-aided design (CAD) using software like Corel draw, adobe Photoshop or adobe illustrator.Keeping up to date with emerging fashion trends as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colors and shapes.Planning and developing ranges as per seasons requirement.Working with cross-functional teams such as merchandising, tech, quality, sales, marketing etc., to develop products to meet a brief.Liaising closely with sales, buying and production teams on an ongoing basis to ensure that the product line suits the customer, market and price pointsUnderstanding design from a technical perspective, i.e. patterns, stitching techniques, printing and embroidery and produce technical specifications for designsSourcing, selecting and buying fabrics, trims, fastenings and embellishmentsUnderstanding the complications of garment construction and supervising the creation of these, including fitting, detailing and adaptationsOversee product development and ensure timely development of samples.Should be open to travel to work independentlyThe Incumbent shall be working with the International brands.The candidate should have decision making ability and a drive for results.Exposure in similar profiles and assignments required.
