Developing and implementing a research strategy for new product developmentStudy global research practices and benchmarks and suggest and implement ways for successful innovation in a timely mannerTechnology, material selection and up gradationIdentify, evaluate and recommend technologies for existing and upcomingIdentify potential R & D led technologies / innovations and competition activity which seriously impact organisation's business and competitivenessWork closely with the purchase team for procuring fibres and developing alternate suppliers or materialsOversee the development of new products to ensure profitable revenuesReview the formulation of the prototype developmentProvide input and evaluate consumer qualification of productOversee technical screening of new product ideasTrack status of product briefs from the different business and ensure closure of marketing briefs on time by the R & D teamOver see the execution of product briefs covering performance / claims and delivered cost and vendor qualificationLeading a research team ensuring the quality of the teams outputs, and delivery of targets.Provide inputs on the research briefs to be selected by the R & D business partnersSupport the R & D business partners in project selection and project planning and executionEnsure that the funds for innovation and product development are utilized to provide the highest return on investmentEffectively managing strategic level projects to budget and schedule and to meet their objectives and outcomes
