Job Description

Develop collection as per buyer's look and brand styling for home furnishing products like cushions, curtains, bed spreads and table runners
Attend buyer meetings and develop samples as per received technical files and showroom selection and comments
Research new fabrics and embroidery techniques for categories of curtains, cushions and bed spreads
Organize showroom as per buyers inspirations and requirements
Send presentations, swatch cards, new qualities and embroidery swatches to buyers for feedback
Coordinate with embroidery contractors for developments and samples of ari, dori, kiran dori, patchwork, computer embroidery etc samples and swatches
Do costing of styles developed, and also work on options of artworks, embroideries and fabrics as per buyers' target prices
Coordinate with fabric department for fabric prices, technical details, negotiation and order confirmation (mainly cotton - poplin, cambric / linen blended with cotton / flex / habutai silk)
Do merchandising of 20 - 30 styles of home furnishings (5 - 10 curtains, cushions and bedspreads) each season
Carefully do testing of embroidery threads, fabric compositions etc and inform buyers
Take all fabric and sample approvals and hand over to production department
Follow up with buyers for order shipping and timely delivery

Eligibility Criteria

Graduate or Post graduate with relevant experience of 5 to 10 years.
Candidate should be fluent in english
Candidate should have understanding of european brands, aesthetics, styling etc and should have experience in product development as well as merchandising
Candidate should have experience n dealing directly with foreign buyers
Candidate should have knowledge of fabrics and embroideries used in soft furnishings like cushions, curtains, bed spreads and table runners
