Job Description
Liaison between the workmen and the management by holding discussions on grievances with a view to promote and maintain harmonious relations between the management and the workmen. Establishes contacts between the management and the workmen.Suggests measures to the management on provision and improvement of welfare measures such as hygiene, sanitation, medical facilities, rest rooms, washing facilities, toilets, transport facilities, cleanliness in the factory, providing healthy working conditions and work environment at work place and in the company premises.Counsels the workmen with respect to unauthorized absenteeism, habitual absenteeism, disciplinary matters, behavioral issues, accident prevention and also on personal/family issues by guiding, advising and helping to resolve their issues.Supervises the functioning of canteens and canteen committees, safety committees, welfare committees, unit level shop floor committees and Division level committees etc.Visits sick and convalescing employees in the hospitals/residences.
