NOVA Leathers (Pvt.) Ltd. was established in 1986 as a specialized tannery for making all types of leathers. In 1989, the management decided to vertically integrate itself in the field of garment manufacturing. This decision of value addition was an immediate success and due to the stringent emphasis on quality production, orders poured in from all over. Since then, we have been able to increase our production from 35,000 pcs. / Year to an annual quantity of more than 1.2 Million Leather Jackets and 500,000 for Bags. In view of the yearly expansion, Nova increased its human resources with qualified people at all levels.
The production controls are totally computerized through Bar Codes. Accordingly the capacity of the tannery was increased with new and latest machinery every year with a total capacity of up to 30 million sq. ft. per annum at present. Nova exports the rest of the tannery's production after catering for its own requirements to Far Eastern countries.
The tannery unit is built on an area of 100,000 sq. ft. It employs about 600 skilled and semi-skilled workers. Environment, being the most discussed issue these days, Nova is one the first tanneries in Pakistan to install an in-house tannery effluent treatment plant for the primary treatment of discharging water. The garment unit has a total covered area of about 150,000 sq. Nova has more than 3500 skilled workers and 2000 stitching machines besides button-hole, embroidery and embossing machines.Nova is currently exporting 100% of its production. The main markets are Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, U. K,Chile,Argentina,Brazil and China.
