Within retail trade, business activity, measured by sales over the past three months, fell from 126.4 in March to 123.2, marking a 2.6 per cent decline. The current volume of stock also weakened, slipping from 93.4 to 91.2, reflecting a 2.4 per cent fall, Turkstat said in a press release.
Additionally, the business activity-sales expectation over the next three months declined from 120.4 to 117.4, showing a 2.5 per cent decrease. These figures indicate a broad softening in retail sector sentiment, with lower sales performance, stock levels, and future sales expectations.
Meanwhile, for the services sector, seasonally adjusted confidence index decreased by 4.3 per cent to 109.5 and for the construction sector, it decreased by 4.2 per cent to 85.1 in in April compared to the previous month.
