66 Bangla exporters to get export trophy; Zaber & Zubair Fabrics tops

The commerce ministry, which announced the trophy in a gazette notification recently, said they announced the trophy for the first time to encourage exporters to strive for exporting more goods and services. The recognition is given in three categories: gold, silver and bronze.

The ministry said the selection of the trophy winners for fiscal 2017-18 was completed last year but was not announced due to the pandemic.

In the woven sector, Rifat Garments Ltd will receive the gold medal while AKM Knit Wear Ltd will receive the silver and Tarasima Apparels Ltd the bronze.

In the knitwear sector, Square Fashions Limited secured the gold, while Four H Fashions and GMS Composite Knitting Industries received silver and bronze medals respectively.

Badsha Textile Ltd, Kamal Yarn Ltd and Nice Cotton Ltd have been named for gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in the yarn sector, according to Bangla media reports.

In the textile fabrics sector, Envoy Textile Limited has bagged the gold medal, while Noman Weaving Mills will get the silver and Four H Dyeing and Printing will get the bronze.

Noman Terry Towel Mills Limited won the gold medal in the terry towel sector.

In raw jute exporting, International Jute Traders was the only top exporter for the fiscal. Akij Jute Mills Ltd tops the highest exporter list in the jute products category while The Golden Fibre Trade Centre Ltd is the second top exporter.

Apex Tannery Ltd won the gold medal in the crust or finished leather category. Picard Bangladesh Ltd, ABC Footwear Industries Ltd and BBJ Leather Goods Ltd will get gold, silver and bronze medals in the leather goods sector respectively.
