Amazon.com, Inc. the world's biggest online retailer will open a third Nevada, USA based fulfilment centre in North Las Vegas. The retailer currently employs more than 1,500 full-time hourly associates at its two existing Nevada fulfilment centres in Reno and North Las Vegas, while the new centre is expected to create more than 1,000 new positions.

Amazon employees at the 800,000 square foot new North Las Vegas fulfilment centre will pick, pack and ship larger customer items, such as big-screen televisions, kayaks and patio furniture.

According to Akash Chauhan, Amazon's vice president of North American operations, their ability to expand Nevada operations is the result of two things, incredible customers and an outstanding workforce in the state.

“We are excited to expand in Nevada by growing our team, creating good jobs and partnering with members of the southern Nevada community,” he added. (AR)
