The US Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs at US Department of State, in a tweet, thanked the partnership between Bangladesh’s Beximco and US brand Hanes for the fast response to make PPE shipment to the US a reality. On May 25, Bangladesh shipped 6.5 million PPE gowns to Hanes for delivery to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
US National Security Council also tweeted saying, "Great to see the partnership between the US and Bangladesh growing stronger as we support each other in the #COVID19 fight and work together toward economic recovery."
Out of the list of 25 items the United States requested Bangladesh to supply, the latter conveyed it was capable of exporting 14 items, according to Bangla media reports. Bangladesh is dispatching these medical supplies to other countries as well.
