CAFD launches first #WEARWHATSFAIR project series

The Council of ASEAN Fashion Designers (CAFD) has launched its first #WEARWHATSFAIR (series 1) project. The ASEAN fashion designers will design the private collection for top 5 fashion influencers from China. This project will instantly open up the world’s second largest market to ASEAN designers as selected collections will be commercialised in China.

The influencers, also known as Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) can have a huge impact on brands planning on making inroads into the Chinese market and the ones featuring in this project have an accumulated 30 million followers across China’s most popular social media platforms. The CAFD is established to promote ASEAN fashion and designers to stay relevant in the global economy by creating a new clothing niche for ASEAN Sustainable Fashion with Fair Opportunities, Fair Value and Fair Living Wage.

This project is opened for participation exclusively for all ASEAN fashion designers. The CAFD is an independent non-profit organisation to facilitate ASEAN fashion to remain relevant and designers to thrive in the digital economy. CAFD is the first ever fashion organisation to be accredited by the ASEAN secretariat. This is a supervising council to promote high quality ASEAN fashion, apparel and ASEAN atelier industry moving forward. CAFD is created to impact the world and to empower its members in taking their vision and ideas, and making them a commercial reality.

CAFD has a goal to inspire new generations of ASEAN atelier students to learn in-depth industry skills in immaculate sewing, pattern-making and cutting based on the traditions of good craftsmanship. Reviving the industry of atelier with refined skills is crucial to bridge the skilled labor gap for ASEAN. (RR)
