European Space Agency (ESA) has collaborated with Spreadshirt,a leading e-commerce platform for on-demand printing of clothing and accessories, to launch ESAshop. The shop provides a wide range of products for space enthusiasts. As per the agreement, ESA will provide the designs for the products, while Spreadshirt will take care of the remaining process.
ESAshop caters to the needs of all ages. The store offers three different product lines for adults: classic, design and United Space in Europe. Further, a product line will be soon released for children featuring ESA mascot Paxi.
Ordering on the store can be done through an easy process by simply clicking on the items, followed by selection of the colour and size, and then checkingout. Subsequently, all items are printed on demand and delivered to the door of the purchaser.
“ESA has produced all kinds of merchandising over the years, but not in a centralised or easily accessible way,” said Philippe Willekens, head of communication at ESA. “This new, user-friendly store will be a place where people can purchase ESA products wherever they are in the world, and as such, convey the positive image of a United Space in Europe.”
“The Spreadshirt model uses print-on-demand technology, meaning that we only create a product when someone has made a purchase,” explains Philip Rooke, chief executive officer of Spreadshirt.
At present, Spreadshirt operates in 18 countries and delivers its products in 190 countries. (VM)
